The opening match saw the returning Antonio “The Promise” Thomas, as he went against the luchador, Loca Vida! “The Promise” wanted to make a huge impact upon returning to 2CW, by not only defeating the popular Mexican Luchador, but also taking his mask off. Antonio did indeed complete one of those tasks, by removing Loca’s mask outside the ring. However, Loca had a second mask on when he reappeared in the ring for the surprise roll-up and victory.
JD Love appeared before the rowdy crowd to inform the 2CW crowd that he wasn’t going to compete in the tag team match scheduled, but he did find replacements that would take care of the Steves. He brought out Pete D. Order and a debuting wrestler that goes by the name The Beast. This brought out The Killer Steves. The match was power and size vs speed and ring smarts. The Steves were clearly out matched in size and power, which was evident by the many slams and shoulder blocks exchanged, however they were able to use their amazing tag team skills and ring smarts to outsmart this huge tag team and defeat them with a great double team maneuver. After the match saw JD Love get some revenge for the loss and lay out both Steve’s with chair shots.
The Ladies match was a rematch from Living on the Edge IV night two, and #41 as Portia Perez took on Sara Del Ray. As usual, another stand-out performance by the ladies of 2CW and it was a tremendous match. However, it ended with a disqualification, as the referee was knocked down, Portia was going to use a chain to hit Sara with, however, before she could execute the punch, Del Ray took the foreign object away and attempted to use it herself. The referee came back to the match just as Sara was about to use the chain. He called for the bell and disqualified Sara Del Ray, giving the win to Portia Perez.
In an unannounced match, Isys Ephex defeated a debuting Vin Gerard. For those who are unaware, Vin Gerard is probably most known for wrestling in Chikara. He had an impressive debut, but it wasn’t his night as 2CW fan favorite Isys Ephex was able to earn the victory.
The 2CW students were in the house, and this was arguably the most intense and hot match of the night. 2CW management decided to have a little fun, as referee Kevin Graham was in the ring, ready to officiate when he realized someone changed the match order on him. When Mike Van Slyke entered for the match, referee Graham took off to the locker room to prepare for his match in two seconds. Then hometown hero Mikey came out to a big reaction. Van Slyke wasn’t too pleased at this, as Mikey entered the ring, he was sent flying into the guardrail. “Pun” and “Superstar” went at it back and forth while Mikey was laid out. Eventually Mikey was able to work his way into the match. While both Van Slyke and Graham were on the floor, Mikey climbed to the top, and dove off onto both his opponents. After getting back to his own feet, he rolled both men into the ring and earned the double pinfall.
Brodie Lee vs “Slyck” Wagner Brown was just as physical as promised. Both men took it to each other, as you would expect. They even pulled out each others favorite maneuvers. “Big Rig” was able to pull out the victory. SWB wasn’t too pleased about this second loss in two shows, and showed his frustration by walking out without shaking hands with Brodie Lee.
The 2CW championship was on the line for this next match. “Main Event” Jason Axe defended his title against mentor, ZS3. This match went all over the arena. They even destroyed a table, with Axe sending ZS3 through the table with his Fisherman’s Buster. Once they made it back to the ring, it was back and forth again. ZS3 was able to pull off an amazing double-underhook facebuster ( otherwise known as a pepsi plunge or top-rope pedigree) from the top-rope. At one point, senior referee Keith Harris had been hit in the face, this brought out Brodie Lee to lay out Jason Axe with a spinning side walk slam onto a steel chair. “Main Event” survived that attack, and eventually put ZS3 away with a triangle choke that made his mentor pass out and referee Keith Harris call for the bell.
Jimmy Olsen appeared in his wrestling gear and told the 2CW faithful that he wanted a warm-up match for his big match in Watertown at night one of Living on the Edge V. J.D. Love and Pete D. Order brought out this woman from the locker room and tossed her in the ring. Jimmy “Jam” asked for a referee and a bell. Jimmy body slammed and tortured this lady. She did get a few quick pinfall attempts in before he took her out with a vicious piledriver. After the match, he gave this woman another piledriver. This brought out “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan to start our main event for the event. Duggan took it to Olsen early in the contest with power moves. Jimmy was able to get the upper hand minutes into the match, but he decided to try to use the 2X4 instead. Referee Kevin Graham wouldn’t allow this, and Jimmy pushed him out of the way, causing a disqualification. During this exchange, “Hacksaw” got in the three-point stance and leveled Jimmy Olsen with the Hacksaw Clothesline. Just for fun, “Hacksaw” jumped on Olsen and the crowd counted the three-count for him, sending the fans home with a great moment for them to enjoy.
